David D. Friedman es profesor de Derecho en la universidad de Santa Clara, California. Tras doctorarse en Física Teórica en la universidad de Chicago, se cambió al campo de la Economía y enseñó en la Universidad Politécnica de Virginia, la Universidad de California en Irvine, la Universidad de California en Los Ángeles, la Tulane University, la Universidad de Chicago y la Universidad de Santa Clara.
